Conducting the Talent Search: The True Role of the Search Committee - Lunch and Learn

Do your search committees need help to make better hiring decisions?  Join the WNC Diversity Engagement Coalition for a free lunch and learn on Wednesday, May the 17th from 11:30 - 1:00 at MAHEC in the Cherokee room and receive search committee training just as it’s done at UNC Asheville.

In this session, you will be the participant attending the training, hearing about the important concepts that all interviewers should understand. Key concepts will include:

·      Ensuring confidentiality

·      Preventing employment discrimination

·      Using behavioral interviewing

·      Providing consistency, reliability, and validity

·      Exercising due diligence

·      Understanding roles of search committee members

Participants will have access to the slides to tailor for use at their organizations.
