Program Coordinator, WNC Diversity Engagement Coalition
Crystal Sherriff considers herself to be an Ashevillian since she’s called this home since the summer of 2003. She graduated from Asheville High in 2011, then relocated to Charlotte to begin her undergraduate career at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. During her time at UNC Charlotte she recognized her passion for the people in the world around her and the way they function within a society, prompting her to graduate with a B.S. in Sociology and Women and Gender Studies. Life beyond college has been dedicated to understanding how she fits into that ecosystem by enjoying stents in New York City and New Orleans, until she decided to join the Peace Corps in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Living abroad and getting to experience the commonalities, but also the stark contrast of life elsewhere, helped her not only cement her love for travel, but her passion for the non-profit sector. She returned to Asheville November of 2018 and is looking to see how far she can expand her wings in the land of the sky.
