MEMBERSHIP

The Western North Carolina Diversity Engagement Coalition (WNC Diversity Engagement Coalition) is a network of organizations dedicated to increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion.  The WNC Diversity Engagement Coalition brings people together to collectively support the professional development, engagement, and inclusion of multicultural people within the member organizations in western North Carolina and to serve as a resource for organizations around best policy and practice regarding equity in the workplace.

Membership Expectations

  • Actively demonstrate your commitment to Diversity & Inclusion
  • Participate in WNC Diversity Engagement Coalition events, including the opportunity to present at professional development programs
  • Designate a key representative to participate in meetings and events
  • Designate a public relations/communications contact to receive communications and share information within and about your organization
  • Provide quarterly demographic data about diverse hires and promotions within your organization to be compiled into overall reporting of WNC Diversity Engagement Coalition's impact in the community
  • Participate in the Diversity & Inclusion assessment process used by the WNC Diversity Engagement Coalition members

Membership Meetings

Our quarterly membership meetings are open to the designated representatives and their designees of our member organizations for the purpose of networking, collaborating, training, sharing best practices, promoting upcoming professional development programs, and providing input into the work of the Coalition.

Membership Benefits

  • Collaborate and share best practices with organizations in Western North Carolina committed to Diversity & Inclusion.
  • Receive one (1) on-site session related to Workplace Diversity and Inclusion (up to 2 hours) at no cost.
  • Enroll your employees at no cost or discounted rates in professional development courses sponsored by the WNC Diversity Engagement Coalition, including sessions for individuals seeking career growth and advancement, mentoring, and best practices for human resources professionals.
  • Connect to resources to contract for additional programs on Diversity & Inclusion.
  • Participate in professional networking/social events.
  • Receive periodic WNC Diversity Engagement Coalition e-newsletter.
  • Receive quarterly report for senior leadership on WNC Diversity Engagement Coalition initiatives and progress towards goals
  • Be identified on the WNC Diversity Engagement Coalition website and social media as a member organization
  • Place your website link to job vacancies on the WNC Diversity Engagement Coalition website.
  • Benchmarking/Assessment of Diversity and Inclusiveness Initiatives
  • Participate in annual Diversity and Inclusion Events
  • Eligible to serve on the Steering Committee as a member organization representative

The annual financial investment is based on the member organization’s number of employees:

                 1-99               Employees$   750  

                 100-299         Employees    $1,500 

                 300+              Employees    $3,000

WNC DIVERSITY ENGAGEMENT COALITION SPONSORSHIP

Our sponsors support our mission and contribute to our community impact in a variety of ways. Opportunities include hosting community events, providing meals or refreshments at professional development programs, and sponsoring keynote speakers.

As a sponsor, your organization’s name is listed on the WNC Diversity Engagement Coalition website with your logo, mission statement, and statement of why Diversity and Inclusion is important to you.  The same information is visible at events that you sponsor for the WNC Diversity Engagement Coalition.

Friendship Membership/Investment

Friend Membership in the WNC Diversity Engagement Coalition allows participating organizations to:

  • Collaborate with organizations committed to diversity and inclusion,
  • Enroll their employees in professional development courses sponsored by the Diversity Engagement Coalition,
  • Participate in networking/social events,
  • Access to monthly newsletter, and
  • Access to the Global Diversity and Inclusion Benchmarks: Standards for Organizations Around the World (as adapted for WNC).

Membership investment is based on commitment to the WNC Diversity Engagement Coalition's Mission and Vision, participating in diversity/inclusion activities, basic monitoring of inclusion policies, and an annual financial investment.

The annual financial investment is based on the number of employees as follows:

Organizations with 1-99 Employees                                          $500      (1-5 Employees' PD slots per year)
Organizations with 100-199 Employees                                    $1,000    (1-10 Employees' PD slots per year)
Organizations with 200+ Employees                                          $1,500    (1-15 Employees' PD slots per year)

Other events are available to members based on a pay-as-you-go basis.


Partner Membership/Investment

Membership at the Partner level allows participating organizations to take advantage of the Friend Membership benefits as well as:

  • Access to professional coaching opportunities,
  • Notification of job opportunities among member organizations, and
  • Training for the self-implementation and use of the Global Diversity and Inclusion Benchmarks:  Standards for Organizations Around the World (as adapted for WNC).

Membership investment is based on commitment to the Diversity Engagement Coalition's Mission and Vision, participating in diversity/inclusion activities, basic monitoring of inclusion policies, and an annual financial investment.

The annual financial investment is based on the number of employees as follows:

Organizations with 1-99 Employees                                          $2,000    (1-20 Employees' PD slots per year)
Organizations with 100-199 Employees                                    $2,500    (1-25 Employees' PD slots per year)
Organizations with 200+ Employees                                          $3,000    (1-30 Employees' PD slots per year)

Other events are available to members based on a pay-as-you-go basis.


Leader Membership/Investment

The Leader Membership level allows participating organizations to take advantage of Friend and Partner Membership opportunities, as well as the following membership benefits:

  • Employee Mentoring,
  • Benchmarking/Assessment of Diversity and Inclusiveness Initiatives,
  • Sharing of Best Practices, and
  • Identified on the website as a member with a link back to the respective organizations.

Membership investment is based on commitment to the WNC Diversity Engagement Coalition's Mission and Vision, participating in diversity/inclusion activities, basic monitoring of inclusion policies, and an annual financial investment.

The annual financial investment is based on the number of employees as follows:

Organizations with 1-99 Employees                                          $3,500    (1-35 Employees' PD slots per year)
Organizations with 100-199 Employees                                    $4,000    (1-40 Employees' PD slots per year)
Organizations with 200+ Employees                                          $4,500    (1-45 Employees' PD slots per year)

Sustainer Membership/Investment

Membership at the Sustainer level provides the highest level of membership benefits.  Benefits include:

  • Collaborate with organizations committed to diversity and inclusion,
  • Enroll their employees in professional development courses sponsored by the WNC Diversity Engagement Coalition, expanded to include middle-level and senior leaders,
  • Participate in networking/social events,
  • Access to monthly newsletter,
  • Access to professional coaching opportunities,
  • Notification of job opportunities among member organizations,
  • Training for the self-implementation and use of the Global Diversity and Inclusion Benchmarks:  Standards for Organizations Around the World (as adapted for WNC),

Leadership Structure

The Steering Committee makes decisions related to the direction, leadership, and operations of the Diversity Engagement Coalition.  This committee is made up of a subset of the larger membership and meets once a month.  There is also a general membership meeting that occurs once a month that provides networking and learning opportunities and a forum for input.
